They were not able to diagnose because it's intermittent and didn't activate a computer response. I have scheduled another appt and recorded the sound for them to listen to when I drop it. State of FL requires the owner of a vehicle to allow dealerships three chances to fix a problem before the lemon law can be applied. Took 4 for the roof leak. We'll see.....
The next time it happens take a video with your phone. This will be much easier to show your advisor.

Hi All,
Just received my new Alltrack and am very excited. Well I'm not really a new owner but a replacement 2019 Alltrack owner. It is a replacement for my 2017 Alltrack, courtesy of VW corp. To make a year long ordeal short, my previous 2017 pano sunroof leaked, had electrical and suspension problems and VW replaced it with a new identical model under the Lemon Law. Some may think I'm crazy to stick with the Alltrack due to continuous problems, but I have investigated this car, I'm an automotive engineer, know a lot about it and can fix anything. Also, I enjoy driving a wagon. This is my first VW and will be my last, coming from decades of Subaru, Acura and Honda ownership. If you search my other posts praising VW for high quality engineering and using quality materials, I also slam them for their poor build quality at the factory.
My 2017 was in for repair for a total of 98 days on and off. On the bright side I made a lot of friends at the dealership, they all know me by my first name and I got a chance to drive 6 different loaners, all various Golf Alltrack, Sportwagen, hatch, TDI models and can vouch for the poor build quality. The '17 Alltracks have more problems than the '18 and '19s. Even though all the loaners had very low mileage they all behaved differently but exhibited some of the common problems. #1 leaks, #2 slight suspension noise from left front and lots of electrical issues probably due to the leaks. The 1.8L turbo is a great engine, but behaves differently in different cars and different years. The turbo kicks in earlier in some cars and VW has been playing around with the shift points. Even the idle speed varies in different cars, even though they are all the same engine. The 2019 is the best and most refined.
Anyway I am looking forward to enjoying my new Alltrack and not visiting the VW dealership anymore. If anyone has any questions feel free to shoot me a message. I'm also on the Allltrack facebook forum.

Fresh member, hailing from Kansas City, MO here. I just traded my second Golf(2015) for a third (2017 AllTrack SEL in white) and found this community. I've already got a couple questions, so I'll be digging into some content. Pleased to meet you all.

Welcome! Some cars that are unappreciated when new stand the test of value over time. Ours are the least expensive VWs with such a sophisticated and durable all wheel drive system. I LOVE my manual 2017 model, plan to drive it in Colorado for many fun years.

My First Volkswagen, my first brand new car. Couldn't be more pleased with my choice. This car does everything I need from a car and all with a nice hint of sportiness. I do a lot of day trips around the Midwest (100-300 miles) and with this I have been getting 33-34 mpg on full tank highway rides. On top of that it caries all my supplies/gear along with my 80 lbs dog no problem. Only road trip issue so far is that it is a little tight for 3 (over 2) large adults. This car is probably very spacious if all the occupants are under 6' tall, however when there are more then 2 occupants over 6' tall the back gets tight very fast. Love the driving feel of the car, very sporty. Don't get me wrong its not a sports car, doesn't sit that low and doesn't have that kinda power. It does have good zip though and the manual makes the experience very engaging. This is not a slow car, it gets out of its own way very well, even with a full load on board.

enjoy your new car. Good review and it is very similar to the journalistic reviews I have read. Most of the reviews have commented that VW has apparently added space to the front seat but taken it away from the back seat. I purchased my car for my daughter and son-in-law and they are both relatively small and slim so the seating is not an issue for them. But it is worth noting for large folks (e.g., I have a golfing buddy who is 6'11"...he needs a larger front area so he drives a BMW X4).

How are things going with your 2019? VW is denying my claim because FL lemon law puts me two weeks behind the deadline(may check with a lawyer on that since I've got 130 days in service) I'm heading to the dealership this weekend to trade in my 17. they have a 19 on the lot with no sunroof.

2500 miles on my 2019 Sportwagen 4Motion., and I'm very pleased. Great handling, very good comfort ... and okay mileage.

Hi, all!

A few days ago, this long-time VW lover traded in a SportWagen SE for a white 2019 Alltrack S (I didn't have issues with the pano on the SportWagen, I just never used it). Since I'm a new Alltrack driver with a lot of questions (best tires for snow, which lift kit, and does adding a rear hitch for a bike rack invalidate the warranty?), I'll look around the forum for answers. The base model is SUCH an improvement in handling and suspension over the SportWagen. So far, my only concern is the mpg. I knew the additional weight would hurt the mpg, just didn't realize how much even when driving conservatively. Sticking with partner's Honda Civic for running errands around town.

I'm excited to tint the windows next month -- it will be helpful to survive Sacramento summers!

Hello from the UK.

I have just bought a late 2015 Alltrack, a 2.0 TDI (184BHP) with the DSG box. We have had a long line of Golfs from the Mk1 GTi, a campaign Mk2, VR6 Mk3 and then a string of 2.0 TDIs in various Mks.

The Alltrack is good, feels more solid, the ride is good (UK country roads are very poor and the 4wd will be welcome when the snow does come......the adaptive cruise is fantastic. I would have loved the pan roof and heated seats but the cars are quite rare in the UK so beggars can't be choosers.

This one is replacing a 286bhp X5 which my wife finds a little large.

I think this is the tradeoff for a car that actually gives you some driving pleasure. A lot of "competitors" put in a CVT transmission geared toward fuel economy. The MPG of these cars beats the Alltrack by a mile but they rip the heart out of the drivers. If one can afford the lower mpg, my vote is for a car that gives driving pleasure every time.

So finally after a year and a bit I have registered to the AllTrack Forum. The car has been great and as we live in a snowbelt area, all wheel drive has been a requisite. Last week I got an early Christmas present.

Both models are beauties.

2017 used Alltrack with ~30k, joined to pursue the water intrusion issue this thing has developed. Last reliable [leaks and electrics] VW I had was a 74 Squareback. Mahalo
