hey guys my latest upgrade is the braille battery.
*coding is required for 8v mqb cars. i found out with experience. the battery will heat up and be damaged beyond repair if you don't code. the time of damage depends on your specific battery age.

part #
intensity carbon lithium
i34CE
[low profile] with [pos+ right side]

------------------------------------------------------------
Description
Braille Lithium delivers a higher, cleaner voltage which improves the performance of every electrical component and has shown to provide: quicker starting, improved management & data logging performance, less horsepower draw from the alternator due to efficient charging (5 times faster than lead), will last 3-5 times longer (especially under the harshest environments), much more reliable, all of this on top of the significant weight savings. They also don’t self-discharge, so if the battery is disconnected (no draw or via power disconnect switch), they can sit for over a year and still have over 13 volts to start the vehicle. To get all these benefits in one simple step makes it a very cost effective upgrade!!

fitment:
fits perfectly once you grind out the rear tabs of the battery tray.
i also got the low profile which means its height is lowered by about 2 inches.
i learned that the inners are actually that normally low. in the traditional casing, the 2 inches is empty. there literally would have had nothing in there since lithium batteries are more efficient they designed it to basically fit a traditional space if you want. with the lower height, you actually save some money too.

i have not had a chance to do a full install and drive it. i did test it out and the car idle for a little so far. I am currently doing some PPF kits for it and then installing it. as i am able to do custom ppf kits for anything i think i can make this look even nicer.

appearance:
i opted for the carbon fiber version so that it would look awesome in the bay. it was a small upcharge but since I'm in this new price range sure why now right?
with the lithium option and the carbon fiber, the battery is really lite and powerful so far with the electrical systems.
the ppf on the top and bottom of it will keep the battery looking great for years to come.

maintenance:
the life span of this battery is well beyond the current lead acid batteries we all use now. i was told by the tech, with proper usages, it will last 10-15+years. simple things to remember are to make sure you dont let it drop under a certain voltage. try to keep it top off often with a lithium trickle charger if you dont plan on driving it for more than 2 weeks while parked. audi cars are known to drain batteries will parked as the electrical system needs it.
lead-acid batteries have a finite lifespan of a certain about of charge cycles. lithium batteries have x4 more charge cycles of lead-acid if i remember correctly. also keep in mind this is not a deep cycle version lithium battery. i believe there are other types that let you drain it down and you recharge it. this version is best kept at high charged state. it works best and lasts way longer if it is at the top charged level at all times. other models, i have heard, can go deeply discharged and then recharge without losing charge cycles. if learn more ill update this info.

more reviews to come after i get a chance to drive it. ill add more info as i get more experience with it to the top sections.
