Spinning Wheels in Drive on Stands

Hello, I’m trying to track down a drivetrain noise on the passenger side of my S3. The sound is most noticeable when I lift off the gas. My plan is to put the car on stands, then have a friend select Drive and press the accelerator slightly to get the wheels spinning. Could this be harmful to the car? I would turn off stability and traction control beforehand.

Start with physically inspect the drivetrain with the car on a car lift and check for anything loose.
